Job summary

A leading engineering company is seeking a Roadway EIT/Designer in Raleigh, North Carolina. The role involves working on detailed designs of roadway projects, including urban and rural areas. Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, with proficiency in MicroStation and AutoCAD. Ideal candidates will also have EIT certification or the ability to obtain it. Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or similar field.
  • EIT certification or the ability to obtain it within 12 months.
  • Ability to develop designs using transportation design software.
  • Proficient with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD.
  • Familiarity and experience with Highways and Roads engineering software such as Open Roads Designer.
  • MS Office experience.

Responsibilities

  • Work on detailed design of urban and rural roadway projects.
  • Take responsibility for alignment, profile, geometrics, and drainage.
  • Assist with creation and submission of technical reports and calculations.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

In the role of Roadway EIT/Designer, we'll count on you to:

  • Work on a team with other project engineers on the detailed design of urban and rural roadway projects
  • Take responsibility for alignment and profile, geometrics, drainage, development of plans, and construction estimates
  • Provide assistance with the creation and submission of technical reports, specifications, and calculations
  • Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field
  • EIT certification or ability to obtain within 12 months. Candidates hired without their EIT will have the title of “Roadway Designer" and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression.
  • Able to develop designs using MicroStation, GEOPAK, or other transportation design software packages
  • Proficient with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD
  • Familiarity and demonstrated experience with Highways and Roads engineering software such as Open Roads Designer
  • MS Office experience
  • Preference is given to local candidates

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or similar field
