Clark County Public Works has multiple Highway Maintenance Specialist positions available. Staff maintain roads and drainage, and respond to weather events, ensuring the traveling public's safety and access.

New hires rotate through six geographic sections during the first six months, reporting to varying county locations. CDL Class A with N tanker endorsement is required within six months; drug screen and driving abstract are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in highway maintenance or related labor-intensive work.
• Must possess or obtain within six months of hire a Commercial Driver’s License Class A with N tanker endorsement; county covers training costs during probation.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in varied weather and work cooperatively in a crew; read and interpret written instructions.

Responsabilités

• Maintain roads and drainage and control vegetation using hand tools and equipment.
• Operate trucks, loaders, and other heavy equipment to complete patching and drainage work.
• Set out traffic signs and flag traffic as needed.
• Patch holes and repair road shoulders; load patching materials as required.
• Inspect and repair culverts, ditches, and drainage facilities; keep sites clean.
