Job summary

NV5 is seeking a full-time Transportation (Roadway) Designer for our Charlotte, NC office. The designer will provide engineering design, calculations, CAD support, and project assistance to the Transportation Design Group.

The ideal candidate will design and complete assigned projects on time, within budget, and of high quality. The qualifications include a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering, 0–3 years roadway experience, familiarity with Open Roads and MicroStation/GEOPAK, and a willingness to

Qualifications

• 0–3 years of roadway engineering experience or related internship.
• Experience with highway design and project delivery.
• Familiarity with standard software tools and design software is a plus.
• Basic Microsoft Excel and Word skills required.
• Willingness to travel on occasion.

Responsibilities

• Use project specifications and drawings to complete assignments.
• Perform calculations and prepare sketches and notes for drawings.
• Plan, schedule, and execute highway design projects.
• Perform preliminary and final engineering design.
• Collaborate with engineers and project managers to ensure accurate drawings.
