Job summary

The Missouri Department of Transportation’s Southwest District Office in Springfield, MO is seeking a design intern who will assist with drafting, road design software, and preparing plan sheets. Qualifications

• Enrolled in an ABET-accredited bachelor’s or post-bachelor’s degree program full-time (12+ credit hours).
• 30 credit hours completed toward degree; transcript required to verify.
• GPA of at least 2.0 out of 4.0, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Utilize CAD/design software to draft and add text to design files and produce plan sheets.
• Compute quantities and material types/sizes; prepare summaries of quantities.
• Delineate right of way on plans and print plans for surveys and public-facing uses.
• Mount displays and prepare handouts for bid lettings, hearings, and meetings.
• Research historical databases and reproduce highway plans for designers and clients.
