Job summary

French & Parrello Associates (FPA) is seeking a Project Engineer to join our Highway & Traffic Department in Wall or Newark, NJ. This role focuses on highway and roadway design from design through construction, with opportunities to grow technical and leadership skills.

The successful candidate will coordinate multidisciplinary design efforts, manage schedules and budgets, and work with clients and public agencies to deliver county and municipal projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• PE license in New Jersey required.
• 4-8 years of progressive highway/roadway design experience.
• Experience on county/municipal projects, including state or federally funded.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare roadway and highway design plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Perform geometric design, grading, drainage coordination, and maintenance of traffic plans.
• Coordinate with internal disciplines including civil/site, traffic, structural, environmental, and utility teams.
• Assist in managing project schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
• Serve as a technical resource for junior engineers and designers.
• Attend client meetings and coordinate with public agencies including state agencies, counties, and municipalities.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal design standards and procedures.
• Support proposal preparation and business development efforts as needed.
