Job summary

French & Parrello Associates (FPA) in Wall Township, NJ is seeking a Project Engineer to join our Municipal Services Department. The role involves leading municipal infrastructure projects from planning through construction and advancing technical judgment within a growing Northeast firm.

Qualified candidates will hold a PE license, have 4–8 years of municipal engineering experience, and be proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 4–8 years of relevant experience in municipal engineering or public infrastructure projects.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong understanding of municipal design standards and permitting processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Support planning, design, and execution of municipal infrastructure projects.
• Prepare engineering calculations, specs, reports, and construction documents.
• Develop plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Coordinate with project managers and engineers to meet schedule and budget.
• Interface with municipal clients, regulatory agencies, and utilities.
• Review shop drawings, RFIs, and submittals during construction.
• Provide field support and site visits as needed.
• Participate in client meetings and coordination meetings.
• Assist with cost estimates, schedules, and budgets.
• Ensure compliance with codes and agency requirements.
• Mentor junior staff and foster teamwork.
