Job summary

Benesch is offering a Transportation Engineering - Roadway/Highway Design Internship in Chicago, IL. You will work with a seasoned team on highway design, traffic analysis, and plan preparation during the summer of 2027.

Interns gain hands-on experience using industry software and participate in project delivery alongside senior engineers. Ideal candidates are pursuing Civil Engineering degrees, with a strong interest in transportation engineering and good communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Strong interest in highway, roadway, or transportation engineering.
• Familiarity with design software such as MicroStation and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist roadway and highway design teams with plan preparation and analyses.
• Support traffic analysis and design documentation for infrastructure projects.
• Gain hands-on experience in engineering design software and collaborative project delivery.
