Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Roadway Design Engineering Intern – Summer 2027 to join our Raleigh, NC office. You will support the design and delivery of roadway projects across North Carolina and learn to apply NCDOT design standards while using engineering software to develop deliverables.

You will collaborate with engineers and designers in a team environment, gaining exposure from preliminary design through final plan production and building solid fundamentals for a civil engineering career.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• No prior required experience; currently enrolled students encouraged to apply.
• Familiarity with CAD software and basic engineering documentation is expected.

• EXPERIENCE: No experience isgenerally requiredifcurrently enrolled in a degreeseeking program
• EDUCATION: Currently pursuing aBachelor’s orMaster’s degree in Civil Engineeringfrom an ABET accreditedprogram
• SPECIAL SKILLS:
  • Proficiencyin Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint)
  • Familiarity with CADD software, AutoCAD orOpenroadsDesigner (preferred)
  • Strong problem solving and teamwork abilities
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

Additional Information

Expected compensation range is between $25 - $31 hourly depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
