Job summary

Hannum Wagle & Cline Engineering, Inc. is seeking a qualified roadway design engineer or EIT for Indianapolis. You will design roadways for INDOT, LPA and local clients, applying MicroStation, InRoads, and ORD, and contribute to quantity calculations, plans, and cost estimates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
• 2+ years of roadway design experience.
• EIT or Professional Engineering License in Indiana.
• Proficient with MicroStation/InRoads, estimation software (BidTabs, CES), scheduling/tracking tools, design software, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to think critically, manage time, and solve problems independently.
• Strong data analysis and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as a team.
• High ethical standards and commitment to self-development.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with design teams as a designer on roadway projects for INDOT, LPA, Local, and other clients.
• Apply MicroStation, InRoads, and ORD in daily roadway design tasks.
• Understand INDOT and LPA project development processes, standards, and federal requirements.
• Prepare quantities, geometric designs, plans, cost estimates, and contract documents.
• Work with senior staff and other teams during QC/QA reviews.
• Interact with consulting firms, INDOT staff, local government, and multi-disciplinary staff.
• Support R/W acquisition, NEPA, and related project development processes.
