Job summary

HWC Engineering is seeking a qualified roadway design engineer or EIT for our Indianapolis Transportation Group. The role focuses on designing roadways for INDOT, LPA, Local clients, using MicroStation and InRoads to develop plans, quantities, and cost estimates.

Ideal candidates will have 2+ years of roadway design, an Indiana EIT/PE, and strong collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams and clients on priority projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
• 2+ years of roadway design experience.
• EIT or Professional Engineering License in Indiana.
• Proficiency with MicroStation/InRoads and estimating tools.
• Understanding of project development processes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with design teams as a designer on roadway projects for INDOT, LPA, Local and other clients.
• Apply knowledge in designing with MicroStation, InRoads, and ORD where applicable.
• Prepare quantities, geometric designs, plans, cost estimates, and contract documents.
• Work with others through design and project development, with QC/QA feedback.
• Interact with consulting firms, INDOT staff, and multi-disciplined staff.
• Understand R/W acquisition, NEPA, and related processes.
