Job summary

STV is seeking a Roadway Engineering Specialist for our Transportation & Infrastructure division in Glasgow, Lexington, Owensboro or Louisville, KY. The Roadway engineering specialist will collaborate with a team of engineers to perform geometric roadway design, prepare drawings, calculations, quantities, and specifications for transportation projects.

There is plenty of growth potential for this position, and there is a variety of projects to work on including bridge replacements, roadway

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• EIT is required; pursuing KY PE is desired.
• Roadway and drainage design experience is required.
• Experience with MicroStation and Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with Open Roads Designer is preferred.
• Familiarity with KYTC or DOT is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional design services for transportation and other projects for KYTC, DOT and other transportation agencies.
• Develop design plans including horizontal and vertical alignment, and cross sections, construction staging, erosion control, signing and pavement marking plans.
• Coordinate with the design team to achieve quality deliverables within the established schedule and budget.
• Work on fast-paced alternative delivery teams (Design-Build, CMGC, etc).
• Assisting with the development of specifications, cost estimates, reports and preparing final bid packages.
• Establishing working relationships and interfacing with client technical staff and project managers.
• Assisting with the preparation of technical and cost proposals.
