Job summary

ACCIONA is leading the SR400 Express Lanes Project in Georgia, delivering major drainage and roadway infrastructure. The Project Engineer – Drainage will support field and engineering coordination across drainage systems, ensuring plans, elevations, and sequencing meet project requirements.

The role requires 3+ years in infrastructure construction, GDOT familiarity, and proficiency with Primavera P6, Procore, Bluebeam, and HCSS. Travel to field sites and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of field experience in infrastructure, roadway, or bridge construction preferred.
• Familiarity with GDOT projects and knowledge of AASHTO and FHWA standards is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to field offices and job sites as needed.
• Basic knowledge of cost tracking, budget monitoring, and field production documentation.
• Proficiency in construction technologies and software such as Primavera P6, Procore, Bluebeam, and HCSS.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and traffic control plans.
• Strong communication and coordination skills with both field and office teams.

Responsibilities

• Support field construction of storm drainage systems and related structures.
• Coordinate drainage activities with Superintendents, Foremen, subcontractors, survey crews, earthwork and utility teams.
• Review drainage plans, profiles, details, pipe schedules and specifications.
• Verify drainage locations, alignments, elevations, slopes, and outfall elevations.
• Coordinate excavation, trenching, bedding, installation, backfill and restoration.
• Sequence drainage installation with earthwork, roadway, and structures.
• Identify and resolve conflicts between drainage and utilities or other infrastructure.
• Coordinate tie-ins to existing drainage systems and verify elevations.
• Assist in resolving groundwater, unsuitable soils, rock and elevation discrepancies.
• Coordinate temporary drainage, bypass pumping and erosion-control measures.
• Track quantities, deliveries, progress, subcontractor performance, testing, inspections.
• Develop drainage look-ahead plans and maintain RFIs and as-built elevations.
• Monitor cost, schedule, quality, and safety for drainage activities.
