Job summary

ACCIONA is leading the SR400 Express Lanes Project in Georgia. This Project Engineer - Drainage role supports field construction and engineering coordination for roadway storm drainage systems across a multi-year, large-scale infrastructure initiative.

You will work closely with superintendents, subcontractors, survey, earthwork and utility teams to ensure drainage work meets project requirements. The position requires a Civil/Construction background, strong communication, and the ability to

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years field experience in infrastructure, roadway, or bridge construction preferred.
• Familiarity with GDOT projects and knowledge of AASHTO and FHWA standards is a plus.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to field offices and job sites as needed.
• Basic knowledge of cost tracking, budget monitoring, and field production documentation.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and traffic control plans.
• Strong communication and coordination with field and office teams.

Responsibilities

• Support field drainage of storm drainage systems and related components.
• Coordinate daily drainage activities with Superintendents, Foremen, subcontractors, survey crews, earthwork teams, utility personnel, suppliers, and quality staff.
• Review drainage plans, profiles, details, pipe schedules, structure schedules, specifications, and field conditions.
• Verify drainage structure locations, pipe alignments, invert elevations, slopes, and outfall elevations.
• Coordinate excavation, trench protection, bedding, pipe installation, drainage structures, backfill, and dewatering.
• Sequence drainage installation with earthwork, roadway, pavement, structures, retaining walls, and utilities.
• Identify and resolve conflicts between proposed drainage systems and utilities or existing infrastructure.
• Assist in resolving groundwater, unsuitable soils, rock, and elevation discrepancies encountered during construction.
• Track drainage quantities, material deliveries, installation progress, subcontractor performance, testing, and inspections.
