Mead & Hunt in Washington, DC seeks an Entry-Level Roadway Design Engineer to join our Transportation team across Columbia, MD; Herndon, VA; and Washington, DC. You will help develop roadway geometry, model designs, and prepare plans and cost estimates under supervision.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and is eager to learn Bentley Open Roads Designer or AutoCAD Civil 3D, with strong communication and field data collection skills.

Formación

• A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field from an accredited college or university.
• Proficiency with engineering drafting software such as MicroStation or AutoCAD.
• EI certification or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• Experience using MS Word, Excel, and MS Project.

Responsabilidades

• Develop horizontal and vertical roadway geometry and typical sections.
• Roadway design modeling using Bentley Open Roads Designer or AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Prepare plans, exhibits, cost estimates and specifications.
• Apply standards such as AASHTO Green Book, MUTCD, and Highway Safety Manual.
• Assist in analysis, reports, permits, and designs for projects.
• Attend client meetings and assist in client communications.
• Field observations of roadway conditions and data collection.
