Job summary

Mead & Hunt, Inc. is seeking an Experienced Roadway Engineer to join our Transportation team across Columbia, MD; Herndon, VA; and Washington, DC. You will lead roadway design efforts from feasibility to final design, producing plans and 3D models while coordinating with project teams.

The ideal candidate holds a PE license, 4+ years of roadway design experience, and proficiency in MicroStation, InRoads/ORD, and AutoCAD Civil 3D. MDOT familiarity and strong communication skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an accredited college or university.
• At least 4 years of relevant roadway design experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Maryland PE or ability to obtain within 6 months of start date.
• Experience with MicroStation, InRoads/ORD, MDOT policies, and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Perform roadway design from feasibility studies through final design.
• Develop plans, specifications, and estimates for transportation projects.
• Produce roadway alignments, profiles, typical sections, cross sections, and 3D models.
• Prepare quantity take-offs, cost estimates, and design reports.
• Develop and review plan sets and design documents.
• Utilize MicroStation and InRoads/ORD, AutoCAD Civil 3D for design and plans production.
• Participate in design meetings and coordinate with project team members.
• Serve as roadway task or project lead as needed.
• Growth toward Project Manager role with continued leadership.
