Job summary

Mead & Hunt is seeking an Experienced Roadway Engineer to join our Transportation team in the Columbia, MD; Herndon VA; Washington, DC area. You will design roadways from feasibility through final design and contribute to plans, specs, and estimates for diverse transportation projects.

The ideal candidate will have a civil engineering degree, a PE license, and at least 4 years of roadway design experience. Maryland PE eligibility or ability to obtain within 6 months is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an accredited college or university.
• At least 4 years of relevant roadway design experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Maryland PE or ability to obtain within 6 months of start date.

Responsibilities

• Performing roadway design from feasibility studies through final design
• Developing plans, specifications, and estimates for a wide range of transportation improvement projects
• Producing roadway alignments, profiles, typical sections, cross sections, and 3D models
• Preparing quantity take-offs, cost estimates, and design reports
• Developing and reviewing plan sets and associated design documents
• Utilizing MicroStation and InRoads/ OpenRoads Designer (ORD), AutoCAD Civil 3D for design, modeling and plans production
• Participating in design meetings and coordinating with project team members
• Serving as roadway task or project lead, as needed.
• Growing technical and leadership skills with the opportunity to advance into a Project Manager role
• Other duties as assigned
