Job summary

Benesch is seeking a Transportation Designer to join our Civil team in Austin, TX. You will create engineering models, perform analyses and designs, and coordinate drafting of project elements for various clients.

Recent graduates are encouraged to apply! As a Designer, you will collaborate with others, perform field inspections, and develop knowledge of codes and standards while using CADD and Microsoft software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering required.
• E.I.T (and desire to obtain P.E. in the future) preferred.
• Knowledgeable in AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, and Microsoft Office products
• Demonstrated ability to work and collaborate in a team environment on challenging projects.
• Willingness to be adaptable to office and field inspection tasks.
• The position may include the need to perform Field Inspection and may require occasional travel to project sites.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written - e-mails, project memos, reports, etc.)
• Detailed, and organized individuals who thrive in environments that are deadline driven.

Responsibilities

• Collect and assimilate data and perform modeling, analysis and/or design calculations of project elements.
• Draw design details under direction of others.
• Compute quantities and demonstrate awareness of relationships to pay items.
• Organize calculations to be included in design files, following project standards.
• Coordinate drafting of design elements and construction plans.
• Perform field or site visits as needed.
• Develop cursory knowledge of applicable codes and standards and use of applicable CADD and Microsoft software.
