Job summary

Benesch is seeking a Roadway Designer I to join our Civil-Roadway team in Kansas. You will perform engineering models, analyses, and designs, and support calculations and documentation for transportation projects with state and local agencies.

The position offers opportunities for recent graduates with a BS in Civil Engineering and EIT interest to contribute to drafting and field inspection activities. Travel to project sites may be required, with collaborative design in a supportive office

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related field required.
• EIT (or desire to obtain P.E. in the future) preferred.
• Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D and MicroStation; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collect and assimilate data; perform modeling and design calculations.
• Draw design details under supervision.
• Coordinate drafting of project elements.
• Prepare calculations and supporting documentation.
• Perform field inspections when required; travel to project sites possible.
• Develop knowledge of applicable codes and design standards.
