Job summary

Benesch is hiring a Transportation Designer to join our Civil team in Austin, TX. The role focuses on roadway design, data collection, modeling, and coordination of drafting and construction plans.

Recent graduates are encouraged to apply. You will work on projects with state and local agencies, perform field visits, and develop knowledge of codes and standards while using AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering required.
• E.I.T (and desire to obtain P.E. in the future) preferred.
• Knowledgeable in AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, and Microsoft Office products
• Demonstrated ability to work and collaborate in a team environment on challenging projects.
• Willingness to be adaptable to office and field inspection tasks.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written - e-mails, project memos, reports, etc.)
• Detailed, and organized individuals who thrive in environments that are deadline driven.
• The position may include the need to perform Field Inspection and may require occasional travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Collect and assimilate data andperform modeling, analysis and/or design calculations of project elements.
• Draw design details under direction of others.
• Compute quantities and demonstrate awareness of relationships to pay items.
• Organize calculations to be included in design files, following project standards.
• Coordinate drafting of design elements and construction plans.
• Perform field or site visits as needed.
• Develop cursory knowledge of applicable codes and standards anduse of applicable CADD and Microsoft software.
