The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) in Winamac seeks a Highway Maintenance Laborer to support highway upkeep, snow removal, drainage, and safety during emergencies. The role is entry-level with overtime potential and opportunities for advancement.

Eligible candidates must obtain a Class A or B CDL within 90 days. The job includes pairing with a comprehensive Indiana benefits package and CDL training, with a starting hourly pay around $20 and CDL bonus potential.

Formación

• Must possess a valid Class A or Class B CDL or obtain one within 90 days.
• Pass and submit to a drug test as a condition of employment.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Ability to perform physical activities such as lifting, dragging, stooping, standing, and walking for long periods.

Responsabilidades

• Comply with all INDOT safety policies and procedures.
• Operate basic highway maintenance/traffic equipment to maintain, repair and clean highways and rights-of-way.
• Move and load supplies and materials.
• Perform winter operations including snow and ice removal.
• Perform emergency response activities such as traffic control, lane closures, signs and barricades.
• Perform routine inspections and equipment maintenance.
