Job summary

The South Carolina Department of Transportation seeks a crew leader at Lexington Maintenance to coordinate construction and maintenance activities, manage time sheets and daily work reports, and oversee paperwork.

You will inspect and install signs and traffic markings, lead traffic control for lane closures and detours, lay out chevrons, crossings and stop bars, and perform hazard analyses before large jobs.

Qualifications

• Two years of related work experience or approved acceptable equivalence.
• A valid motor vehicle operator's license is required at entry.
• Must obtain a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within six months of placement.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate construction and maintenance activities as crew leader.
• Manage time sheets and daily work reports.
• Inspect and install signs and traffic markings per standards.
• Lead traffic control for lane closures, detours and road closures.
• Lay out and install turn lane chevrons, railroad crossings, crosswalks and stop bars.
• Perform job hazard analysis before large jobs and operate equipment during emergencies and hazardous weather.
