Job summary

South Carolina Department of Transportation is seeking a project manager with supervisory responsibilities to oversee roadway construction projects. The role focuses on ensuring adherence to plans, specifications, and environmental permits while maintaining safety for workers and the traveling public.

The incumbent will monitor construction activities, coordinate with contractors and inspectors, and assist in resolving conflicts to keep projects on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or approved equivalent in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Science and Management.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Certified CEPSCI and SCDOT inspector as needed.

Responsibilities

• Manage roadway construction projects per plans and specifications.
• Monitor compliance with environmental regulations and permits.
• Ensure work zone safety and traffic control requirements are met.
• Prepare, maintain and verify forms, checklists, and documentation for projects.
• Liaise with Contractors, public, property owners, and utility representatives.
