Job summary

The South Carolina Department of Transportation seeks a project manager and supervisor to oversee roadway construction projects under general supervision of RCE and ARCE. You will ensure work complies with plans and specifications and monitor safety, traffic control, and environmental requirements.

Responsibilities include addressing deficiencies with Contractors, guiding inspectors, and preparing closeout documents to keep projects on time and on budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Science and Management or acceptable equivalence.
• Valid motor vehicle operator's license.
• Travel may be required.
• Ability to work extended hours and in adverse weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise roadway construction projects to ensure plans and specifications are followed.
• Monitor compliance with environmental permits, safety, and traffic control requirements.
• Notify Contractors of deficiencies and verify resolution with stakeholders.
• Prepare closeout documents and assist in project records and reports.
• Serve as department representative with contractors and the public.
