Job summary

Kimley-Horn's Kansas City, MO and Overland Park, KS offices are seeking a Civil Engineer with 4+ years of experience to join their Roadway team. This is not a remote position and the role focuses on delivering detailed roadway designs across multiple projects.

You will collaborate with a team of engineers and designers, oversee analyses, feasibility studies, and cost estimates, and ensure designs meet local regulations and standards while managing schedules and budgets.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of relevant engineering design experience, roadway focus preferred.
• PE license or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• Proficiency with Civil 3D/OpenRoads/MicroStation/AutoCAD.
• Strong written and verbal communication for project coordination.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed roadway designs compliant with standards and specs.
• Lead analysts and assist in project plans, feasibility studies, and cost estimates.
• Prepare materials specifications and perform alignment/geometric design.
• Coordinate permits with authorities and support construction activities.
• Monitor budgets/schedules and ensure quality control.
