Job summary

Consor in Houston, TX is seeking a Transportation CAD Technician to support infrastructure projects through drafting and design using AutoCAD Civil 3D.

You will review plans, refine drawings, and coordinate with engineers; proficiency in Civil 3D/AutoCAD and TxDOT experience preferred; hybrid and remote options available; join a team delivering impactful public transportation projects.

Qualifications

• CAD, drafting or design technology training with coursework, certifications, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with transportation engineering, preferably TxDOT.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Civil 3D, with plan production and drafting standards experience.

Responsibilities

• Review roadway, drainage, traffic control, and utility construction plans, specs, and calculations to develop accurate design drawings and documents.
• Prepare and revise detailed roadway design plans, profiles, cross-sections, and corridor models using CAD software.
• Produce plan sets in coordination with engineers and designers to ensure compliance with standards and objectives.
• Develop and maintain engineering documentation, including quantity calculations, plan sheets, exhibits, and reports.
• Create and modify alignments, surfaces, corridors, and grading models using Civil 3D.
• Perform quality control reviews of plan sets for accuracy and compliance with standards.
• Coordinate with survey, drainage, utility, and transportation teams to integrate design elements.
• Prepare construction plans, erosion control plans, signing and pavement marking layouts, and exhibits.
