Job summary

Consor is seeking a Roadway CAD Technician to provide drafting support for municipal and transportation projects. You will review and refine engineering drawings, develop detailed roadway plans, and coordinate with engineers, designers, and survey teams to ensure accuracy and constructability.

The role emphasizes proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D, collaboration across project stages, and delivering compliant plan sets for DOT requirements and client standards.

Qualifications

• Educational or training background in CAD, drafting, or design technology.
• Experience with transportation engineering projects, preferably TxDOT.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D (or similar platforms) and collaborative tools.

Responsibilities

• Review roadway, drainage, traffic control, and utility plans to develop accurate drawings and documents.
• Prepare and revise roadway design plans, profiles, cross-sections, and corridor models.
• Produce plan sets in coordination with engineers and design teams to ensure compliance.
• Maintain engineering documentation including quantities, exhibits, and reports.
• Create and modify alignments, surfaces, corridors, and grading models using Civil 3D.
• Perform quality control reviews of plan sets for drafting accuracy and standards.
• Coordinate with survey, drainage, utility, and transportation teams to integrate design elements.
• Prepare construction plans, erosion control plans, and signing/pavement layouts for projects.
