Job summary

Consor is seeking a Roadway CAD Technician in Houston to deliver high-quality drafting support for municipal and transportation projects. You will review and refine engineering drawings, support design teams, and ensure accuracy, compliance, and constructability throughout the project lifecycle.

You will produce plan sets using AutoCAD Civil 3D, coordinate with engineers, and perform quality control to uphold client standards and project objectives.

Qualifications

• Training or certification in CAD/drafting or design technology.
• Experience in transportation engineering preferred.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D, with plan production and drafting standards.

Responsibilities

• Review roadway, drainage, traffic control, and utility plans to develop accurate design drawings and contract documents.
• Prepare and revise roadway design plans, profiles, cross-sections, and models using CAD software.
• Produce roadway plan sets in coordination with engineers and multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with standards.
• Develop and maintain engineering documentation, including quantity calculations, plan sheets, and technical reports.
• Create and modify alignments, surfaces, corridors, and grading models using Civil 3D.
• Perform quality control reviews of plan sets for drafting accuracy and design consistency.
• Coordinate with survey, drainage, and transportation teams to integrate elements throughout the project lifecycle.
• Prepare construction plans and road-related exhibits for transportation projects.
