Kimley-Horn is seeking an experienced CAD Operator to join our Roadway team in Naples, Florida. You will develop geometric alignments, profiles, surface models, and construction details using CAD software.

The role emphasizes quality control, coordination with teams, and the ability to work with minimal supervision while contributing to project schedules and design standards.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Advanced knowledge and proficiency in Autodesk or Bentley products.
• Detail oriented, professional attitude, good communication, team player, self-starter.
• Strong work ethic, interpersonal communication/writing skills and desire to learn.
• Ability to work independently and with a team.

Responsibilities

• Develop concepts and preliminary/final design for projects, including alignments, profiles, surface modeling, cross sections, grading, drainage, and signing/striping plans.
• Develop technical drawings and plans using CAD software.
• Quality check drawings and plans of substantial complexity and perform calculations as needed.
• Work with minimal supervision on day-to-day tasks.
• Maintain drawing database and coordinate work to meet schedules and quality standards.
• May supervise and train CAD staff and ensure compliance with Kimley-Horn practices.

Overview

Kimley-Horn is looking for an experienced CAD Operator to join our Roadway team in Naples, Florida (FL)! This is not a remote position.

Responsibilities

• The candidate will develop concepts as well as work on preliminary engineering and final design for projects
  • This would include developing geometric alignments, profiles, surface modeling, cross sections, grading design, drainage, superelevation, construction details, work zone traffic control, erosion control, and signing and striping plans
• This person will develop technical drawings and plans using CAD software
• The person in this position will make and quality check drawings and plans of substantial complexity and may perform some multifaceted calculations
• Requires minimal supervision to perform day to day tasks
• Has knowledge of engineering principles and suggests design changes
• Maintains drawing database
• May supervise and train CAD staff
• Coordinates work activities to maintain schedules and ensure quality control
• Develop familiarity with Kimley-Horn’s practices, procedures, and standards
