Job summary

Kimley-Horn is seeking an experienced CAD Operator to join the Roadway team in Peachtree Corners, GA. The role focuses on developing geometric alignments, profiles, surface modeling, and various design elements, delivering technical drawings with CAD tools.

The candidate will work on both preliminary engineering and final design, maintaining drawing databases and ensuring project schedules and quality controls are met, with potential supervision of CAD staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (associates degree preferred).
• 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Advanced knowledge of Autodesk or Bentley products.
• Detail oriented, professional attitude, good communication, team player, self-starter.
• Strong work ethic, interpersonal communication/writing skills and desire to learn.
• Ability to work independently and with a team.

Responsibilities

• Develop concepts and work on preliminary engineering and final design for projects.
• Develop technical drawings and plans using CAD software.
• Quality check drawings and plans of substantial complexity and perform calculations.
• Perform day-to-day tasks with minimal supervision and suggest design changes.
• Maintain drawing database and coordinate work activities to meet schedules and quality standards.
• May supervise and train CAD staff and ensure Kimley-Horn procedures are followed.
