Job summary

CTL Engineering, Inc. is hiring Inspectors/Technicians for NCDOT projects in the central NC region. You will perform earthwork, concrete, asphalt inspection and materials testing, with field and lab work, reporting findings to project engineers.

The role emphasizes quality control, job-site observations, and collaboration with agencies, engineers, and teams to ensure compliance with specifications and safety standards.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of construction inspection and testing on NCDOT projects.
• Familiar with highway construction specifications and field experience.
• Experience with concrete, asphalt, earthwork, and utility construction testing/inspection.
• Field and laboratory testing of soil, concrete, asphalt, aggregate, masonry, steel.
• Preferred certifications: ACI Grade I, NICET II soils, ICC inspections; not required.
• Valid driver license and acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspection services related to earthwork, concrete, asphalt for state and local clients.
• Conduct field testing primarily roadway/bridge projects and document results.
• Inspect and sample construction materials and report on progress and QA/QC.
• Assist engineers in field during soil and materials investigations and calculations.
• Maintain project records, plans, quantities, and calculations; communicate findings.
