Job summary

Infrastructure Consulting & Engineering, LLC (ICE) is seeking a Transportation Construction Inspector for the Salem, VA area to inspect highway construction projects under the supervision of senior staff and ensure adherence to plans and specifications for safe, quality transportation systems.

The role requires 3–7 years of relevant experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver's license, and familiarity with VDOT standards.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• 3-7 years of relevant experience in materials, standards, and specifications related to VDOT projects and facilities.
• Familiarity with VDOT specifications, manuals, and environmental/safety regulations.
• Ability to use contract management software and MS Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Monitor contractor work for quality control and contract compliance on roadway projects.
• Inspect field work, measurements, and materials; document non-compliant work.
• Schedule inspections and maintain project records and daily diaries.
