Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an on-site field Inspector to oversee highway construction inspections at project sites across multiple locations. You will evaluate materials and processes, interpret plans and drawings, and document findings for project success. Role requires travel and the ability to work with limited supervision.

Ideal candidates have a High School diploma, 6 years of related experience, and certifications (ACI/NICET) as needed. A valid driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Certifications from ACI or NICET in earthwork, asphalt, and concrete as required.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.
• 6 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex and routine inspections of construction to evaluate if materials and processes conform to plans and specs.
• Uses higher-grade equipment and performs complex calculations for inspections.
• Work under limited or direct supervision depending on assignment.
• Review drawings to prepare for construction inspection.
• Document results and communicate inspection findings to supervisor.
