Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an Inspector for the Transportation Construction, Engineering and Inspection group to perform field inspections at project sites. The role involves evaluating materials and construction conformances, reviewing drawings, and communicating findings to supervision, on-site with limited supervision when appropriate.

Qualified candidates have at least 6 years of related experience, a valid driver’s license, and relevant certifications such as ACI or NICET where required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Certifications in earthwork, asphalt and concrete (ACI or NICET) if required by the client.
• Valid driver's license.
• 6 years of related experience.
• Experience may substitute for a degree.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex and routine inspections to evaluate materials and construction conformity.
• Use higher-grade equipment and perform complex calculations for inspections.
• Work under supervision depending on demonstrated knowledge.
• Review drawings to prepare for inspections.
• Document and communicate inspection results to the supervisor.
