Job summary

CDM Smith's CEI team in Knoxville, TN is seeking a CEI Roadway and Bridge Transportation Engineer to support construction inspection on roadway, bridge, drainage, and traffic projects. You will help manage field activities and maintain relationships with clients and contractors.

Responsibilities include estimating manpower, scheduling work, coordinating field inspections, and contributing to new business development while advancing CEI capabilities. Travel up to 40% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, transportation, or Structural Engineering or related discipline.
• 1 year of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Assist with construction inspection activities on roadway, bridge, drainage, erosion & control, and maintenance and traffic projects.
• Maintain relationships with clients and contractors to ensure schedule and contract requirements.
• Estimate manpower needs, schedule, and assign work to meet deadlines.
• Assist with coordination of the work for field inspection staff.
• Participate in new business development and maintain existing client relationships.
• Assist in developing and implementing new strategies to enhance CEI capabilities.
• Keep abreast of new methods and developments affecting CDM Smith and recommend changes to current programs or implement new programs warranted by new developments.
