Job summary

AAA Northeast in Massachusetts seeks a Roadside Service Tech Flatbed to deliver safe, best-in-class roadside solutions for members, including jump starts, tire changes, minor mechanical assistance, and, when needed, towing to a repair facility.

You'll respond within an ETA, assess scene safety, educate members on potential issues, promote AAA products, maintain vehicle readiness, and operate under a 24/7 schedule with varied shifts and differential pay.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required
• At least 21 years of age
• Post-secondary training in automotive mechanics and familiarity of electrical troubleshooting required
• Active and valid driver’s license issued by only one state or jurisdiction required
• DOT card pre-hire and as a current employee within 1 year required
• Satisfactorily pass a motor vehicle record check during pre-hire screening and periodically during employment in accordance with policy required

Responsibilities

• Accepts calls and responds to Dispatch or members with ETA to destination; assesses safety of the scene on arrival to ensure a safe location for service
• Provides efficient minor mechanical assistance (if trained and equipped) and towing service following safety procedures and AAA guidelines
• Maintains service vehicle and equipment in good safe working order; manages inventory and follows safety rules; represents AAA brand professionally
• Promotes AAA products and services; educates members on battery replacement and refers calls to appropriate technicians
• Works independently with flexible shifts to cover a 24/7 operation
• Takes care to prevent damage and injury by securing loads and adapting to changing vehicle dynamics during tow operations
