Job summary

NTTA is seeking Roadside Safety Specialist personnel to rapidly remove debris, assist disabled motorists, and support accident scenes on North Texas toll roads. You will provide gas or water, tire changes, minor repairs, and vehicle recoveries, and help set up detours while reporting damage and maintaining records.

This is an Essential Employee role requiring attendance during emergencies or inclement weather.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must have a valid Texas Driver's License (Class C)
• Must pass pre-employment drug and background screenings.
• CJIS certification required and must stay compliant.
• Ability to work shifts including nights, weekends, holidays, and emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Removes disabled vehicles and those involved in accidents from the tollway.
• Assist stranded motorists by providing gas or water, changing tires, minor repairs, recoveries, or relocation.
• Assist at accident scenes with emergency first aid, traffic control, and debris removal.
• Set up, maintain, and remove emergency detour routes as needed.
• Report property damage and maintain records in databases and logs.
• Provide directions to stranded motorists and report abandoned vehicles.
• Maintain safety equipment, uniforms, and personal safety gear.
• Cope with job-related stress and high work volumes.
• Ensure vehicles are operational before and during shifts.
