Job summary

SP+ is seeking a Roadside Assistance Vehicle Operator to support TX DOT operations in Austin, TX. You will assist motorists, handle incidents on toll roads, and help maintain safe traffic flow while coordinating with DOT on alternate routes.

The role requires a valid driver's license, a high school diploma, and strong customer service skills. Shifts include early and late options; weekend availability may be required.

Qualifications

• Education/Experience Required: High School Diploma or an equivalent combination of experience and education
• License Requirement: Must have and maintain a valid state driver's license
• Availability to Work: Special shift requirements, if any, will vary depending on a location's hiring needs
• Must be willing to work a flexible schedule
• Ability to read, write and interpret English
• Thorough knowledge of areas surrounding toll roads to provide directions
• Ability to adapt to changes and handle delays or unexpected events
• Exhibits sound judgment and maintain a calm demeanor
• Effective communication with the public and customers
• Ability to lead by example and provide good customer service

Responsibilities

• Helps customers with vehicle services, including flat tires, jumpstarts, minor repairs, and refueling
• Provides assistance to stranded motorists
• Coordinates with DOT for alternate routes during incidents
• Removes stalled vehicles from toll lanes and ramps
• Removes debris and coordinates large debris removal with DOT
• Directs traffic at toll plazas to facilitate maintenance
• Maintains vehicle cleanliness and readiness
• Arrives on time in uniform for scheduled shifts
• Performs Plaza and Ramp checks
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisors
