Chaves County seeks a Supervisory position overseeing road maintenance, construction, and repair operations, including quality control and safety compliance. The role also manages solid waste and vector control within the Road Department.

The incumbent coordinates permits, ensures proper training, and reviews utility agreements; may assist with bridge coordination and reports in collaboration with NM entities. Strong leadership and English communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Five years increasingly responsible experience in road construction and maintenance.
• Three years of supervisory capacity.
• Valid NM Class A CDL with acceptable driving record.
• No DWI convictions within the last 48 months.
• Ability to communicate orally and in writing in English.

Responsabilités

• Oversee Solid Waste Division, Vector Control, Engineering and Permits, Safety and Traffic Control for the Road Department.
• Coordinate Utility, Driveway, and Road Cut Permits and approve construction requests.
• Quality control for repair, construction, and maintenance in accordance with policies and guidelines.
• Train Road Department staff in operations and safety; supervise temporary employees.
• Review and approve utility permits; investigate public complaints and follow up to resolution.
• Assist Road Operations Director on bridge reports and coordination with NM counties and NM DOT.
• Attend meetings and keep the Road Operations Director informed of issues.
