Job summary

Clark County Public Works is seeking qualified candidates for Maintenance Worker I/II (CDL) in the Roads Division. The role maintains roadways and paved areas, including cleaning surfaces, laying asphalt, and debris removal.

The Maintenance Worker I is a training underfill position with potential promotion to Maintenance Worker II (CDL) upon program completion. An Open Competitive Eligibility list may be created to fill vacancies in the next six months.

Qualifications

• Maintenance Worker I requires a high school diploma and 1 year of general maintenance training or experience.
• Maintenance Worker II requires the above plus 1 additional year of full-time maintenance experience in the relevant field.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair roadways and paved areas by cleaning surfaces and laying asphalt.
• Construct and repair sidewalks, ramps, curbs, gutters and drainage structures.
• Clear weeds and debris; operate common tools and equipment.
• Install and repair guard rails, signs, and fences; basic welding possible.
