Job summary

The Clark County Public Works Department is seeking qualified candidates for Maintenance Worker I/II (CDL) in the Roads Division. These roles maintain and repair roadways and paved areas, including cleaning surfaces and laying asphalt, with extensive safety and licensing requirements.

The Maintenance Worker I is a training underfill with potential non-competitive promotion to Maintenance Worker II upon successful completion of the program.

Qualifications

• Maintenance Worker I requires high school diploma and 1 year of general maintenance training or experience.
• Maintenance Worker II requires CDL-competent maintenance experience, plus one additional year in the field.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair roadways and paved areas; clean surfaces and lay asphalt.
• Clear debris from paved areas and operate related equipment.
• Assist in constructing forms, pouring and finishing concrete, and repairing sidewalks and drainage structures.
• Install and repair guard rails, signs, fences, and barriers; basic welding possible.
• Assist skilled crew in carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical tasks.
• Load/unload materials; fuel equipment; maintain tools and work areas.
