David Evans and Associates, Inc. invites applicants for a Roads and Highways internship for Summer 2027 in Denver, CO and other locations. The role focuses on assisting with planning, design, and documentation on multidisciplinary roadways projects.

You will work with OpenRoads Designer, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and other tools under mentorship, gaining experience in cost estimation and construction documents.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be in the pursuit of an undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering, with at least 2+ years of completed course work from an ABET accredited program
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word)
• Ability to communicate and work in a team-oriented environment
• Demonstrate strong communication skills including active listening
• Willingness to ask questions

Responsibilities

• Assist with the planning and design of roadway and transportation infrastructure projects.
• Support engineering calculations, plan preparation, cost estimates, and technical documentation.
• Develop and modify plans using Bentley OpenRoads Designer, AutoCAD/Civil 3D, and other design software.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams and review technical data.
• Participate in project meetings, site visits, and field observations.
• Gain hands-on experience through mentorship, training, and real-world engineering projects.
