Job summary

City of Detroit seeks an Engineering Services Coordinator to lead road and bridge construction and planning activities within the Department of Public Works. You will coordinate with staff engineers to ensure project file control in line with MDOT protocols, manage budgets, schedules, and contractor oversight, and prepare reports and presentations for stakeholders.

The role requires a civil engineering degree, professional licensing in Michigan, and several years of leadership in road/bridge

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
• Professional Engineer license in Michigan required or able to obtain.
• Experience with road/bridge construction management and MDOT protocols.

Responsibilities

• Oversee development and organization of capital project files per MDOT standards.
• Review internal plans and oversee bid processes for capital projects.
• Plan and direct activities of staff managing project files and permits.
• Coordinate with city departments and external agencies on projects.
• Present project information to residents and participate in public meetings.
