Job summary

Minnesota Department of Transportation is seeking a Transportation Generalist at Sherburn Truck Station. The role focuses on road, surface, and roadside maintenance as well as snow and ice operations, supporting district 7 activities in a hands-on field environment.

The position requires a valid CDL Class A with tanker endorsement and strong English communication; Candidates may complete a Heavy Equipment Operation and Maintenance program in lieu of some experience.

Qualifications

• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (Class A) with tanker endorsement and no air brake restriction.
• Working knowledge of English sufficient to read, write, speak, and understand information.

Responsibilities

• Road and surface/ roadside maintenance including repair, drainage, and traffic control setup to ensure safety.
• Snow and ice maintenance including snow removal, winter equipment inspection, and post-storm cleanup.
• Maintain documentation on snow and ice data and inventory for reporting.
