Job summary

State of South Carolina's Department of Motor Vehicles is seeking a License Examiner II for the Pickens branch. You will administer road tests across multiple vehicle classes, assess applicant fitness, and conduct knowledge exams.

You will also process documents for licenses, permits and registrations while assisting customers with inquiries. The role requires a high school diploma and driving experience, a valid SC driver's license, and successful completion of a background check.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma and relevant experience.
• Must have a valid South Carolina driver's license and be at least 21 years of age with one year driving experience.
• Must complete a nationwide criminal background check to include finger printing.

Responsibilities

• Administers road test examinations for multiple vehicle classes including A, B, C, D, E, F, M and CDL tests.
• Determines applicant fitness and competency to operate motor vehicles and conducts written, oral, and automated exams.
• Examines and processes documents for licenses, permits, registrations, plates, titles, and related items.
• Responds to customer inquiries about drivers, vehicles, titles, registrations, and insurance requirements.
• Performs routine maintenance on equipment and handles branch office duties as needed.
