Job summary

Waymo is seeking a regulatory-oriented paralegal to help manage Road Rules compliance across global vehicle regulations. You will partner with engineers and legal teams, track requirements, and oversee documentation and change logs.

The role emphasizes automation and proactive process improvements within a collaborative, fast-paced environment. The position operates on a hybrid schedule and reports to the Lead, Regulatory Readiness & Enablement.

Qualifications

• At least 4 years experience in vehicle codes, systems requirements, or paralegal work on similar topics.
• Strong organizational skills, ideally with Jira or similar tool.
• Experience collaborating with legal teams and engineers or product managers.
• Interest in traffic rules and road safety.
• Collaborative, organized, action-oriented problem-solver with automation mindset.
• Willingness to automate processes where possible.

Responsibilities

• Support compliance with global vehicle traffic laws and regulations.
• Manage intake and updates of compliance requirements and communications with outside counsel.
• Maintain electronic recordkeeping of requirements, software updates, change logs.
• Identify new or changed laws/regulations.
• Work with engineers, lawyers, and cross-functional teams to maintain Road Rules program.
• Escalate and track issues to resolution.
