Job summary

Scotch is seeking a hands-on POS Installation Technician to deploy and configure POS systems at retail locations across the continental United States. This travel-intensive, field-based role requires you to install, test, and hand off complete POS environments with reliability and speed.

The ideal candidate brings 1+ year of POS or field tech experience, comfort with long travel, and basic networking know-how.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience installing, deploying, or supporting POS systems, retail tech, or similar field-based tech solutions.
• Experience onsite hardware installations, device configuration, cabling, testing, and go-live support in customer environments.
• Willingness to travel up to 100% across the continental US, including overnight stays.
• Comfortable with a highly variable schedule, frequent flights and long drives between markets.
• Hands-on technical aptitude with hardware setup and troubleshooting.
• Basic networking knowledge (IP addressing, routers/switches, connectivity).
• Strong problem-solving and independent working ability under deadline pressure.
• Excellent reliability and communication with store staff and remote teams.

Responsibilities

• Travel to retail locations across the continental US to install, configure, and commission POS hardware and software.
• Complete installations during pre-opening windows with minimal business disruption.
• Disassemble previous POS systems and organize components for disposal.
• Set up Scotch POS terminals, cash drawers, printers, scanners, readers, and related peripherals.
• Run cabling and coordinate with on-site networking/electrical teams for proper connectivity.
• Install and update POS software, apply configurations, verify integration with back-office systems.
• Test all hardware/software end-to-end, troubleshoot on-site, and secure sign-off.
• Provide basic staff training on the installed system when required.
• Complete installation checklists, documentation, and reporting on time.
