The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) seeks a Highway Lab Technician for the LaPorte District Testing Lab. You will collect and test soil and aggregate samples to ensure materials meet INDOT QA standards, document results, and support material acceptance decisions.

Strong attention to detail and analytical problem-solving are essential. Qualifications include a valid CDL or eligibility to obtain one within 90 days, ability to lift 50 pounds, and the capacity to work in various weather

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Class A or Class B CDL or obtain one within 90 days.
• Ability to pass drug test.
• Knowledge of highway guidelines and INDOT specifications.
• Reading and following technical documents.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and work in varying weather.

Responsabilités

• Sample and test construction materials per QA standards.
• Visit producers’ plants or job sites to collect samples.
• Record test results in INDOT systems.
• Communicate with contractors on testing requirements.
• Perform safety and routine maintenance of equipment.
