Spokane County is looking for a dedicated Transfer Station Maintenance / Mechanical Technician to support preventive maintenance and repairs of station equipment and facilities. You will diagnose hydraulic and mechanical issues, procure parts, monitor inventories, and maintain records under supervision.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 3 years of relevant experience, a valid driver’s license, HazMat certification or ability to obtain, and CDL B within one year.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Three (3) years’ experience in repair, troubleshooting, maintenance, and service of hydraulic and mechanical systems and equipment.
• Valid driver’s license.
• OSHA HazMat Certification or obtained within 6 months.
• CDL B required or must be obtained within one year.

Responsabilités

• Perform general maintenance and cleaning to keep tools, equipment, and facilities operable.
• Inspect, test, troubleshoot, diagnose, and service hydraulic, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems and equipment.
• Respond to repair requests for equipment, grounds, and facilities.
• Consult with staff to diagnose problems and prevent future issues.
• Determine parts and supplies needed and assist procuring them.
• Monitor inventory of parts and ensure materials are available.
• Operate transfer station equipment as necessary.
• Maintain service records, data analysis, and reports.
