Job summary

The Oklahoma Department of Transportation in Okemah (District 3) is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator. This full-time position requires operating power equipment for highway maintenance and repair, under supervision at Level I–III ranges.

Qualifications

• Level II requires 1 year of experience operating heavy equipment.
• Level III requires 5 years of experience operating heavy equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operates heavy equipment such as trucks, tractors, road graders, dozers.
• Performs minor repairs and maintenance on equipment and facilities.
• Repairs failures in the roadway shoulders or bridge decks.
• Repairs and/or replaces signs, posts, guardrails and fences.
• Provides traffic control assistance using a stop/slow sign or flag.
