Job summary

Story County, IA is seeking a road maintenance equipment operator to support road, bridge, and culvert maintenance projects. You will operate front end loaders, dump trucks, skid steer, and a variety of snow removal equipment to keep roadways passable.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED and moderate experience with equipment operation, including snow removal or dirt work. A valid Class B CDL is required, and duties include traffic control and routine equipment maintenance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and moderate experience working with equipment operation, such as snow removal and/or dirt work, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate front end-loader to load materials and haul loads with trucks.
• Snow removal: operate snow blade, wing and sander to remove snow and ice from roads.
• Load, unload, and spread materials; perform traffic control at worksites.
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment (oil changes, tires, etc.).
• Use hand tools and power equipment for maintenance, repair, and construction tasks.
• Assist in road, bridge, tile, and culvert maintenance projects; dig post holes; place/replace signs; patch roads.
